The experience

Gatamaiyu is a green escape just past Limuru: tall indigenous trees, colobus monkeys, trout streams and a hidden waterfall. We walk around 10 km at an easy pace with a local guide, stopping for photos and a picnic by the river. It’s a good first hike for students and anyone new to the outdoors.

  • About 10 km forest loop with river crossings
  • Waterfall and picnic stop
  • Colobus monkeys and birdlife
  • Group photos by the BTW host
